How to get rid of stretch marks
Stretch marks are deep scars, or scar tissue, that appears as stripes on the skin. They are commonly found on the stomach, legs, buttocks, and breasts, but may appear nearly anywhere. Extreme stretching of the skin causes tiny skin fibers to tear. There is no known remedy to repair these fibers, though there are many products and treatments available that can help lighten stretch marks and improve the look of the skin.
When you grow or gain weight very quickly, such as during puberty or pregnancy, you can get stretch marks. As your skin is over-stretched, the connective fibers can break, and this creates lines on the skin. These lines usually start out pink or reddish and fade over time. Old stretch marks may become silvery or turn a color a few shades lighter than your natural skin tone.
Treatment - How to rid of stretch marks
Regulating your weight and overall body volume will ensure you don’t get stretch marks. Massaging the skin improves capillary circulation, and promotes new tissue growth. So, pass on that cheesecake and tell your husband that full-body massage he promised you is long overdue.
Salicylic acid
Salicylic acid is a rare but equally effective way to get rid of stretch marks. Acids of any sort are useful in helping to exfoliate the skin because they break apart the proteins (lipids) that hold skin cells, particularly dead skin cells, together. Salicylic acids are most often found in treatments for acne, but there are some skin creams on the market that use very mild concentrations to help reduce the appearance of stretch marks, pimples, and blemishes.
Other ways - How to rid of stretch marks
Vitamin A, E & C
Supplementing these vitamins may help increase the strength and elasticity of the collagen within your skin and reducing your chance of forming stretch marks.
Skin Creams and Lotions
Lotions containing cocoa butter are rumored to not only help reduce stretch marks, but to help prevent them entirely. Any cream or oil that is made specifically for the prevention or treatment of stretch marks will help keep your skin healthy and elastic.
While there is not a lotion out there that will completely erase stretch marks, there are some that will help to conceal them. Certain creams can also help to make those itches go away. Try to stay comfortable above all else. Use moisturizers that will improve the overall health of your skin. Some folks like to use butters such as cocoa butter and shea butter to make sure the skin is not dry.
