When you are stressed you may experience many different feelings, including anxiety, fear, anger, frustration and depression. The herb sage is beneficial in treating mental stress and strain. In 1 cup of boiling water, add 1 tsp of dried sage leaves. Let it cool down for a few minutes. Strain the water and add honey to it, if desired, to enhance the taste. This herbal tea serves as an excellent home remedies for stress.

Balanced diet is very important for keeping healthy body and mind. People suffering from stress should take healthy food, proper meal including green leafy vegetables, fruits, salads, whole wheat grain, beans, grams, sprouts, fresh curd, etc. Balanced diet here means good, fresh nutritional foods. People suffering from stress should take vitamin A and B rich food. Minerals like calcium, potassium are also good to fight against stress.

Blackstrap molasses are another effective food remedy. It is a by-product of the sugar refining process and is rich in iron and B vitamins. This is also one of the good home remedies for stress.

The leaves of holy basil act as an anti stress agent. Chew about 12 holy Basil leaves two times in a day, once in the morning and then later in the evening.

Coffee, soft drinks, salt, smoking and alcohol should be avoided as they all deplete B vitamins that are considered necessary for reducing stress.

Eat whole-wheat bread. It is  high in the B vitamins, which sustain the nervous system. Other B-rich foods include whole-wheat pita bread, whole-grain cereal, pasta, and brown rice. For a good stress-fighting diet, about 60 percent of your daily calories should come from these starchy foods, divided among your meals.

Eat regularly, and eat whole foods such as vegetables and grains, avoiding processed foods. This is one of the popular stress home remedies.

Yogurt has the ability to relieve insomnia, migraines and cramps that can be associated with menstruation. Blackstrap Molasses is among the best home remedies for stress and is actually a by-product of the process of sugar-refining. Blackstrap Molasses is rich in vitamin B and iron and it has the ability to protect you from anemia.

Bathe in baking soda. A soothing bath in baking soda and ginger can relieve stress. Add 1/3 cup ginger and 1/3 cup baking soda to a tub of hot water and enjoy the soak

The Betel leaves (Pan) has analgesic and cooling properties. It can be applied over the painful area. This is one of the effective home remedies for stress.
