Home Remedies for Tuberculosis

Tuberculosis is a serious disease. A tiny germ called tubercle bacillus causes it. The germ enters into tile body through the nose mouth, and the windpipe, and settles down in tile lungs. It multiplies by millions and produces small raised spots called tubercles.

Tuberculosis treatment using Custard Apple Custard apple is regarded as one of the most valuable remedies for tuberculosis. It is said to contain the qualities of rejuvenating drugs. Ayurvedic practitioners prepare a fermented liquor called sitaphalasava from this fruit, when in season, for use as a medicine in the treatment of this disease.

Tuberculosis treatment using Indian Gooseberry

The Indian gooseberry is another valuable remedy for tuberculosis. A tablespoon each of fresh amla juice and honey, mixed together, should be taken every morning in treating this disease. Its regular use will promote vigour and vitality in the body within a few days

The chief therapeutic agent needed for the treatment of tuberculosis is calcium. Milk, being the richest food source for the supply of organic calcium to the body, should be taken liberally. In the dietary outlined above, at least one liter of milk should be taken daily. Further periods on the exclusive fruit diet followed by a fruit-and-milk diet should be adopted at intervals of two or three months depending on the progress.

Pineapple juice is beneficial in the treatment of tuberculosis. It has been found to be effective in dissolving mucus and aiding recovery. This juice was used regularly in the past in treating this disease when it was more common than it is at present. One glass of pineapple juice is recommended daily

Oranges are useful home remedy for tuberculosis. A glass of orange juice should be mixed with a pinch of salt and a tablespoon of honey and taken daily by the patient. Due to its saline action in the lungs, it eases expectoration and protects the body from secondary infections.

Simple home remedy for tuberculosis : Grind large raisins, long pepper and desi sugar in equal quantity and take a tsp. of it twice daily in the morning and evening. It will cure T.B., asthma and cough.

Good home remedy for tuberculosis using Bottle gourd : Plaster a fresh bottle gourd with barley flour, wrap it with a piece of cloth and roast it by inserting it in burning coals. When it becomes under, squeeze the juice out of it and give it to the patient to drink in several doses. This treatment for a month will cure T.B.

Custard apple is an excellent food remedy with rejuvenating power for Tuberculosis. Boil custard apple pulp and seedless raisins in water. Filter it when 1/3rd of water is left. Add sugar candy, cardamom and cinnamon before consuming.

Indian gooseberry is beneficial and promotes vigor and vitality. A tablespoon each of fresh Indian gooseberry and honey every morning is extremely beneficial.

The fresh juice of mint has also been found useful in this disease. A teaspoon of this juice, mixed with two teaspoons of pure malt vinegar and an equal quantity of honey, should be stirred in 120 ml of carrot juice. This should be given as a medicinal tonic thrice daily in the treatment of tuberculosis. It liquefies the sputum, nourishes the lungs, increases body resistance against infection, and prevents the harmful effects of anti-tubercular drugs

Figs: The soft and sweet fig is a rich source of sugar, protein, fat and carbohydrate. The dry fig is also highly nutritious. And when taken with milk, it is very beneficial for the proper functions of lung.
