Home Remedies For Nose Bleeding
Nose bleeding is also known as epitasis, it is common and not a very serious occurrence that demands you to be shifted to a hospital or rushed to the doctor on emergency. Most cases of nose bleedings are not serious and can be very easily treated at home. Nose bleeds may be for many reasons. Injury to the nose due to picking ones nose and infection of the mucous membrane due to dryness. Sometimes a sudden impact or blow to the nose can also cause nose bleeds. The presence of many blood vessels in the nose makes it vulnerable to bleeding at simplest instances.
Home remedies for nose bleed
Wash the face with cold water and also pour a small cup of cold water on the head.
Crush an onion and smell it a number of times.
With the help of a dropper put a few drops of the juice of Durva (Dhub) grass inside the nostrils.
Stand perfectly erect, throw the head a little back, place the finger on the affected side of the nose, close the mouth tightly and draw air through the free nostril as long as possible. Repeat this until the bleedingceases.
Vigorous chewing motion of the jaws will arrest bleeding at the nose. If necessary take a wad of paper and chew hard.
You can also cap the bleeding side with wet cotton. Keep a nasal spray at home for this purpose. Incase you do not have cotton handy, use simple sterilized gauze instead. You can take the cotton or the gauze out after 10 to 15 minutes.
Sit straight whenever you have a nose bleed. This is because if you recline or tilt your head back, the blood may run towards and into your throat instead of tickling down the nose.
You can try holding an ice pack alongside the nose area. The cold will cause the blood vessels in the nose lining to constrict and lessen bleeding.
Drinking Durva (Dub, a grass used to worship Lord Ganesh) juice mixed with Sugar, stops nose bleeding or Epistaxis.
Black Cotton leaves grinded and squeezed to extract juice, this juice applied on the centre of the head,stops nose bleeding or Epistaxis.
