Home Remedies For Nausea

Nausea is the sensation of being about to vomit. Vomiting, or emesis, is the expelling of undigested food through the mouth. Nausea is a reaction to a number of causes that include overeating, infection, or irritation of the throat or stomach lining. Persistent or recurrent nausea and vomiting should be checked by a doctor.

Home Remedy for Nausea

Drinking non-carbonated syrup. Non-carbonated syrup contains carbohydrates. One to two tablespoons of this help calm down upset stomach and is a very good Natural Remedies for Nausea

Ginger. Ginger is a very good home Remedies for Nausea and by mixing this to your favorite tea, you’d get quick relief to your dizziness.

Ginger root. Two capsules of gingerroot provide instant relief and serves as great home remedies for Nausea

Drinking herbal tea such as light tulsi/mint tea without sugar or milk

Strong ginger flavour or powdered ginger

Eat some protein snack before retiring to bed at night

Put one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a cup of lukewarm water and drink in the morning on an empty stomach.

Cola syrup is highly effective in battleing=ing nausea, upset stomach, and vomiting. I have found that as soon as I give it to my 4 year old, he is able to relax with little to no vomiting after wards. It doesn’t taste gross, so kids and adults can take it without adding an extra gag. Read the directions on the bottle. The typical direction is 1-2 tablespoons over crushed ice, sip slowly.

Sip clear liquids, suck on ice chips or Popsicles if nothing will stay down.

Once you can keep fluid in your stomach, drink clear liquids for the next twelve hours or so and then for one whole day eat bland food.

Watch for signs of dehydration, especially in infants, children, and older adults (symptoms include dry mouth, sticky saliva, dizziness or weakness) .

Lemon-lime Gatorade. This one was recommended to me by an expectant mother. I don’t know why it works, but apparently it has something to do with the taste. As with the soda, in point #1, above, the electrolytes from the drink help to rejuvenate the body.

Mid-back massages
. Rubbing in a circular motion just below the middle of the spine can often stave off even extreme nausea. This works great on children.

Orange Peel:
Perhaps the simplest of all these home remedies for nausea, but not necessarily the least effective. Peel an orange and bruise the skin by twisting and crushing it with your fingers. Hold the skin to your nose and sniff the scent.

Acupressure
: Applying thumb pressure to a specific point on your wrists makes for another very simple, yet highly effective remedy for nausea. This point is well known by Chinese medicine practitioners for its ability to relieve
