Home Remedies for Cracked Heels
Cracked heels point out that you have not been taking care of your feet. It is a sign of lack of attention to your daily foot care routine. At times overexposure and lack of moisturizing can cause it. Medically cracked heels are known as heel fissures. These linear cut wounds chiefly affect the epidermis. The most common area for cracked heels is the rim of the heel and web of toes, which happen to be the most frequently or constantly used parts of our body.
Cracked Heels Home Remedies
The foremost home remedy to cure cracked heels is to adopt a healthy weight and lifestyle.
Avoid wearing thin soled shoes and shoes with open backside.
Regularly use pumice stone bars for exfoliating/removing the dead skin around heels.
Another home remedy for cracked heels is to apply a mixture of lemon juice, a teaspoonful of glycerin and boiled milk on your cracked heels. This not only soothes your cracked heels but also makes them soft.
For not so severe cracks, you may try massaging the soles of your feet with sesame oil and then soak the feet in warm water .
A daily regime of cleaning and moisturizing is a good cure for dry or cracked heels. At the end of the day soak the feet in warm soapy water for about 15 minutes. Rinse feet and pat dry. Make a healing mixture comprising of: one teaspoon Vaseline and the juice of one lemon. Rub this mixture onto the cracked heels and other required areas of the feet till it is thoroughly absorbed. This can be done daily until visible results are obtained.
Apply any shortening or hydrogenated vegetable oil after washing the feet clean on dry and cracked areas of the feet
Apply the pulp of a ripe banana on the dry or cracked area of the heel. Leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse it clean.
Soak the feet in lemon juice for about 10minutes. This therapy on a weekly basis until one finds a change.
Before bedtime, wash your feet with warm water and dry them. Liberally apply petroleum jelly on your feet, massaging it into the rough and cracked areas. Wrap each foot with plastic wrap. Put socks on and sleep that way. Repeat the process nightly until your feet are fine. It shouldn’t take more than a week… probably less.
Mix one banana with 2 teaspoons of Sweet Almond Oil and apply on the Cracked Heels and wash it off after 20 minutes and apply some Vaseline on your feet. Do this everyday before going to bed. After a month (or whenever you see a change) you can just apply Vaseline or any good Foot Cream everyday.
Crush 2-3 strawberries, mix one tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive one teaspoon of Epsom Salt. Apply this paste on your feet and leave it for 10-15 minutes. Scrub properly and rinse off.
