Home Remedies for Constipation
Constipation refers to any irregularity in, or absence of, bowel movements. The slow movement of food through the large intestine and the amount of time the waste remains in the colon are factors that contribute to constipation. More and more water is absorbed while the waste is in our body and the stool becomes drier and bulky thus more difficult to pass. Home remedies can help in releiving constipation.
Home Remedies for Constipation
Drinking a glass of warm milk before going to bed helps in easy evacuation in the morning. In case of severe constipation, mix two teaspoons of castor oil in the milk.
Drink one liter of warm water and walk around for a few minutes immediately after waking up early in the morning.
Take 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar every morning (on an empty stomach) with a glass of water.
Mix 1/4 teaspoon of Epsom salt to 1/2 a glass of water and drink right a way (bitter but amazing). One of the good home remedies for constipation.
Belleric Myroblan (Terminalia belerica) The half ripe fruit of the belleric myroblan is a purgative. It is used in treatment of chronic constipation. However the fully ripe fruit may be disadvantageous to the treatment.
Cassia (Cassia fistula) The pulp of the ripe fruit of the cassia tree is an effective laxative in the treatment of constipation. This remedy is popular because it has no side effects even when taken by children and pregnant women.
Modern herbalists suggest flaxseed or psyllium. Both work by adding a great deal of fiber to your diet. They should both be taken with large quantities of water. Try a spoonful or two of the seeds, and two large glasses of water once or twice a day. If that doesn’t get things going in a day or so, try again.
Psidium littorale: Psidium littorale renders you roughage that is very essential for the proper digestion of nutrient. Roughage aids in the normal voidance of your intestines.
Take a glass, put 2 plums in and pour boiling water on. Wait for 4-5 hours, then take the plums out and drink the water. The best time to drink it is on an empty stomach in the morning so you can leave the plums in the water all night. If you want you can also eat the plums.
