Bad breath, also known as halitosis, is a very common temporary condition caused by such things as oral dryness, stress, hunger (ketosis), eating certain foods such as garlic and onions, smoking, or poor oral hygiene.

Bad breath is caused by odor-producing bacteria that grow in the mouth. When people don’t brush and floss regularly, bacteria accumulate on the bits of food left in the mouth and between the teeth. The sulfur compounds released by these bacteria make the breath smell.

Chew a mint or some gum. Like mouthwash, a breath mint or minty gum is just a coverup, good for a short interview, a short ride in a compact car, or a very short date.

Tea tree oil can also be used as your toothpaste or mouthwash. Put a few drops of tea tree oil on your toothbrush alone or top it with toothpaste, and then brush your teeth. You can use it as a mouthwash to help keep your gums healthy. Tea tree oil can also cure gum disease, which is possibly the cause of your bad breath. You can even soak your dental floss in tea tree oil. One of the useful home remedies for bad breath to get rid of bad breath.

Baking soda is a fantastic home remedy for bad breath, since it changes the pH (acidity) level in your mouth, which results in a less friendly environment for odor-causing bacteria. Simply add some baking soda onto your toothbrush, brush with it, and then rinse with water.

Take a green cardamom and chew it after meals for a longer duration

Fenugreek tea: Fenugreek tea is one of the most efficient home remedy of bad breath. To make fenugreek tea, add 1 tsp of fenugreek seed in a half liter of water and leave it on low flame for 15 minutes. Strain it properly and use it twice a day.

Parsley or mint

When parsley or mint is used as a garnish, there is a reason for that. It is also meant to be eaten to help fight bad breath from odorous meals. This bad breath home remedy has been used for thousands of years.

Swish water around in your mouth after each meal or snack. This will reduce the food particles or drink residue (primarily sugar) that may lead to your bad breath.
