High Blood Pressure- Home Remedies for High Blood Pressure
Blood pressure is the force in the arteries when the heart beats (systolic pressure) and when the heart is at rest (diastolic pressure). It’s measured in millimeters of mercury (mm Hg). High blood pressure (or hypertension) is defined in an adult as a blood pressure greater than or equal to 140 mm Hg systolic pressure or greater than or equal to 90 mm Hg diastolic pressure.
High Blood Pressure Home Rmedies
The fruits most recommended for hypertension patients are oranges, apples, tomatoes and guava. Juices which contain 100% juice will also be effective. Pears, pineapples, muskmelon and raspberries can provide additional assistance, and should be taken in smaller quantities. Some holistic health professionals recommend a “fruits only” diet for a week following diagnosis of hypertension.
Take equal quantity of honey, ginger juice, and finely powdered cumin (jeera) seeds, approx 2-3 tablespoon, and make a mixture. Take this mixture 2-3 tablespoon twice a day. This is an effective home remedy for high blood pressure.
Gooseberry (amla) is also used in the treatment of high blood pressure. Take 1-2 tablespoon of amla juice with honey in empty stomach early in the morning. It will help in lowering high blood pressure.
Patient suffering from high blood pressure should take a spoonful of lemon juice mixed with honey every morning.
Hawthorn berries are another natural or home remedy for high blood pressure and to treat heart problems like heart failure that has been around for a very long time. Hawthorn berries are a tall flowering shrub with beautiful white flowers. The plant is beautiful and it smells good, but there are also vicious thorns on the stems. (It is rumored that these are the thorns that were used to make the crown of thorns that was placed on Jesus’ head at the crucifixion.)

Take about 25-30 curry leaves and make a juice, using 1-cup water. You can even add on limejuice to it for making it tastier. Strain and drink it in the morning.
A real effective home remedy for high blood pressure is to take 1 tsp honey, 1 tsp ginger juice and 1 tsp cumin powder and mix them well. Have this mixture at least two times in a day.
As a part of high bp home remedy treatment, it’s good to try out the idea of consuming coriander or fenugreek leaves mixed in 1 cup of water.
Cayenne or red pepper contains capsicum, which is understood to help regulate blood pressure.
Hawthorne berries have a reputation stretching back for centuries that relates to blood pressure.
Garlic is often touted as an excellent additive to replace salt intake in the diet.
Less food, especially for dinner - Literally my bench mark is: I am always slightly hungry. One should have a balance. If one is too hungry, your work will be impacted and you will tend to get frustrated and have a big meal later.
Fasting - I fast two times a week. In the fast one can eat only fruit and tea (that contains milk), but have normal dinner. I usually also jog during fasting day. Fasting also help in controlling craving for the food for the rest of the week.
